Badaia: identity, family, sea
Overlooking the sea and home to the yacht club of Marina di Loano, Badaia is the new chapter in the gastronomic vision of the Lovisolo siblings, Jacopo and Alice, heirs to a tradition that for four generations has contributed to Ligurian culinary identity.
Our story is rooted in our great-grandmother’s small osteria in Magnone, where hospitality and genuine cuisine were the founding values. An inheritance that grandparents Lidio and Nita carried on by transforming a pastry bar in the square of Vado Ligure into Ristorante Negro, which became a reference point for Ligurian and Mediterranean cuisine.
In 1984, our parents, Franco and Rosa, brought this vision to Finale Ligure with a restaurant capable of combining tradition, research, and contemporary aesthetics.
From this journey were born the projects we now carry forward with dedication:
- Lovisolo Ricevimenti, excellence in high-level catering and hospitality,
- Osteria La Briga, immersed in the Manie woods, where we interpret Ligurian cuisine in a contemporary way,
- Aurea, a private restaurant dedicated to UBS top clients, located inside the new headquarters in the Principality of Monaco designed by starchitect Jean Nouvel, an exclusive place where we manage the gastronomic experience with care and discretion.
Badaia represents the natural evolution of this path. A restaurant that looks to the sea and the future, created and led by us, Jacopo and Alice Lovisolo.
The name Badaia comes from the spontaneous language of Jacopo’s daughter, Olivia, two years old: for her it means banana and marjoram, two light and musical words, with an unexpected Brazilian sound. A sound that won us over and that we chose as the symbol of a place that wants to convey freshness, color, and wonder.
The spaces bear the signature of architect Marco Costanzi, who interpreted our vision by creating an elegant, bright, and Mediterranean environment, perfectly integrated with the marine atmosphere.
Badaia’s cuisine, led by Executive Chef Jacopo Lovisolo, tells the story of the Ligurian Riviera through a contemporary sensibility: essential dishes, rigorously selected ingredients, tradition reinterpreted with technique, balance, and identity.
The service, directed by Alice, combines elegance, warmth, and naturalness, turning every detail into a gesture of authentic hospitality.
